    Women’s economic empowerment is central to realizing women’s rights and gender equality

    Sustainable development

    Ending all discrimination against women and girls is not only a basic human right, but also crucial for sustainable future
  • End all forms of discrimination and violence against all women and girls everywhere
  • Eliminate all harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage and female genital mutilation
  • Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights
  • Promote the use of technology, in particular information and communications technology, to encourage the empowerment of women
  • Adopt and strengthen sound policies for the advocation of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls at all levels

    Humanitarian action

    We work together with people, community and civil society to strengthen the role of women in disasters
  • Women are often the first attendee to a crisis, play a central role in the survival essence and resilience of families and communities
  • Humanitarian efforts essentially recognize the reality that women and girls—like men and boys—have substantial element to contribute to preparing for, as well responding to crises
  • It should be a prerequisite, that women shall be included in decision-making about the pattern of assistance and protection they need
  • Humanitarian action should present opportunities for new and more progressive gender roles and relationships to emerge
    • NW Women fulfils its humanitarian role by providing coordination and leadership, technical expertise, capacity-building and evidence-based response and advocacy to the community and nations’ humanitarian system.
